Recently, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey!
I’ve been experimenting with Govee LED lights and integrating them with MQTT for more seamless control. Let me share some of my experiences and insights with you all. First off, I’ve been absolutely impressed with the brightness and color accuracy of the Govee LED lights I’ve been testing. They’ve brought a whole new level of ambiance to my space, and the ability to customize scenes through the app is a huge plus!
However, I’ve also encountered some challenges along the way, especially when trying to set up automated routines. One of the key things I’ve learned is the importance of understanding the differences between various wake-up features. For instance, the Auto-Run Wake-Up tab on my bulbs allows me to set brightness levels, but I’ve noticed it’s slightly different from the wake-up feature under individual bulb timers. It would be awesome if there was more clarity or consistency in how these features operate. On the MQTT front, I’ve been working on configuring my GPIO relay to work seamlessly with OpenHAB. While there were some initial hurdles—like getting the MQTT binding to recognize my devices—it’s been incredibly rewarding to see everything come together. My setup now allows me to control my lights through both the Govee app and OpenHAB, giving me a lot of flexibility. I’d love to hear from others who are also exploring MQTT or smart lighting automation. What tips or tricks have you discovered? Are there any features or integrations you’d like to see improved? Let’s keep the conversation going! ![]()
