After a year of experimenting with Vera, I’ve finally taken the plunge into more advanced smart lighting automation. I wanted to share my journey and some tips for anyone looking to enhance their home automation setup. 
One of the most exciting additions to my system has been the Govee Glide wall lights. They’re not just stylish—they’re incredibly functional. I’ve been using them to create dynamic lighting scenes that adapt to my daily routine. For example, in the evening, they dim to create a cozy ambiance, and in the morning, they brighten gradually to wake me up gently. It’s like having a personal lighting assistant! 
I also wanted to share a tip for anyone struggling with scene automation, like the issue mentioned in Topic 2. I found that using Vera’s scripting feature to set conditional rules was the key to avoiding overlaps. For instance, I programmed my system so that if Scene 1 (the foyer lights) is already active, Scene 2 (the main floor lights) won’t interfere. It’s all about creating a seamless experience without conflicting settings. 
Another thing I’m passionate about is sharing DIY projects. Inspired by Topic 4, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom lighting effects using RGB strips and motion sensors. It’s been a fun way to add a personal touch to my home. If anyone has tips for creating energy-efficient DIY setups, I’d love to hear them!
