I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation lately, and it’s been a fascinating journey! 
I’ve got a mix of Philips Hue bulbs and GE Link bulbs in my setup, all integrated with my Amazon Echo devices. The Hue bulbs are connected via the Philips Bridge, while the GE Link bulbs are managed through the Wink Hub. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but the results have been amazing!
One of the things I’ve been most impressed with is how seamlessly everything works together. The Hue bulbs, for instance, offer such precise control over color and brightness, which is perfect for creating different ambiance settings throughout the day. I’ve set up routines where the lights automatically adjust to warmer tones in the evening, helping me wind down after a long day. 
On the other hand, the GE Link bulbs, while not as feature-rich as the Hue ones, have been rock-solid in terms of reliability. They might not offer the same level of customization, but their simplicity and consistent performance make them a great complement to the Hue system. Plus, the fact that they’re integrated with the Wink Hub means I can control them alongside my Wemo switches and Lutron dimmer, creating a unified ecosystem. 
I’ve also been experimenting with automations usingIFTTT and Alexa routines. For example, when I leave the house, all the lights automatically turn off, and when I come back, they turn on to a preset brightness. It’s these little conveniences that really make smart lighting worthwhile.
One thing I’m still exploring is how to optimize energy usage. I’ve set up schedules to ensure lights only come on when needed, but I’m curious if there are more advanced ways to track and reduce consumption. If anyone has tips or recommendations, I’d love to hear them! 
Overall, my experience with smart lighting has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s not just about convenience—it’s about creating a home environment that’s tailored to my lifestyle. Whether it’s through precise color control, seamless integration with other devices, or smart automation, the possibilities are endless.
