I recently got a Philips Hue bridge and connected it with a Friends of Hue switch. My goal is to use a single switch button to control my Hue bulbs in different ways—like toggling the light, adjusting brightness, and even creating scenes.
I’ve managed to get some functionality working using the Hue Essentials app, but it’s not as reliable as I’d like. The app crashes occasionally, and I have to reconfigure everything, which is a bit frustrating. I’d love to move this setup into Home Assistant automations, but I’m completely new to writing automations and could really use some pointers.
