Exploring Smart Lighting Automation with Inovelli RGB LED Bars

I’ve recently installed my Inovelli RGB LED bar, and I must say, the experience has been both exciting and a bit challenging. The setup process was smooth, especially after installing the custom driver beforehand. I noticed that the driver automatically created a child device for the LED bar, which I can now integrate into my existing smart home ecosystem. This has opened up a world of possibilities for customizing my lighting scenarios.

One feature I’m particularly interested in is using the LED bar as a status indicator. For instance, turning it red when the garage door is open or blue when it’s closed. I’ve tried this out, and while it works to some extent, I’ve encountered an issue where the LED settings interfere with the main dimmer device’s configurations. This has led me to wonder if there are any hidden pitfalls or best practices I should be aware of when using the LED bar in this way.

I’ve also read that the red Inovelli dimmer with scene controls offers a dedicated notification feature, which makes me curious about the differences in functionality between the two models. I’m currently using the dimmer with incandescent bulbs in my dining room, and I’ve had to tweak the minimum dimming level to accommodate the low brightness levels these bulbs offer. It’s been a bit of trial and error, but I’m slowly getting the hang of it.

If anyone has experience with using the Inovelli RGB LED bar for similar purposes or can shed light on any potential gotchas, I’d be grateful for the insights. The goal is to create a seamless and reliable smart lighting system that enhances my daily life without any hiccups. Thanks in advance for your help!
