Exploring Smart Lighting Automation with LIFX and SmartThings

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation lately, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how much I’ve been able to achieve with my LIFX bulbs and SmartThings integration. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag that I’m hoping the community can help me work through.

So, here’s the setup: I’ve got four LIFX bulbs all connected to my SmartThings hub. My goal was to create an all-encompassing ‘All Lights’ command that would allow me to turn all the lights on or off with a single voice command through Alexa. Sounds pretty straightforward, right? Well, I managed to create a virtual switch called ‘All Lights’, and while it works perfectly for turning the lights on or off, it doesn’t seem to respond when I try to set a specific color. That’s a bit of a letdown, especially since color shifting is one of the features I was most excited about.

I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the setup. Did I configure the virtual switch correctly? Is there a better way to structure this automation for more seamless integration with Alexa? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully set up something similar or has tips on how to troubleshoot this issue.

On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with different lighting scenarios to create a more dynamic home environment. For instance, I’ve set up a routine where the lights gradually dim in the evening to create a calming atmosphere, and they brighten up in the morning to simulate a sunrise. It’s been a fantastic way to enhance my daily routines, and I’m eager to explore more possibilities with my LIFX setup.

If anyone has any advice, tips, or just wants to share their own smart lighting experiences, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s continue to make our homes smarter, one lightbulb at a time. :bulb:
