Exploring Smart Lighting Compatibility and Device Integration

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One thing that’s been on my mind is the compatibility of various devices with different platforms. For instance, I’ve been trying to get the Fibaro button to work seamlessly with Smart Lighting. While the idea of having a ‘Held’ option sounds fantastic, it’s been a bit of a puzzle since it doesn’t seem to function as expected. I’ve reached out to support, but it’s been the usual response—‘it’s a custom device handler.’ I wonder if anyone else has encountered this and found a workaround or if switching to CoRE is the only solution for now.

Another device I’ve been curious about is the Everspring ST812 flood sensor. It seems like a solid option, especially with its separate sensor lead. However, I’ve heard mixed reviews about its waterproofing capabilities. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had hands-on experience with this device, especially in comparison to alternatives like the Fortrezz sensor.

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with integrating my Yamaha receiver with Homey. It’s been a learning curve, but I’m hopeful that with the right flow setup, I can automate my music experience. If anyone has tips or a simple flow they’d be willing to share, I’d be eternally grateful!

This exploration has made me appreciate how much potential there is in smart home technology. It’s all about finding the right balance between functionality and ease of use. I’m excited to see what other innovations the community comes up with and can’t wait to dive deeper into these projects!
