Exploring Smart Lighting Custom Effects and Brightness Control

As a homeowner deeply interested in enhancing my living space with smart technology, I’ve been experimenting with Flux LED/MagicHome lights to create custom lighting effects. While the ability to set custom effects is fantastic, I’ve noticed that the brightness level defaults to 50% and can’t be adjusted without stopping the effect entirely. This has been a bit of a hurdle for me, as I’d love to fine-tune the brightness to match different moods or activities in my home.

I’ve reached out to the community to see if anyone else has encountered this limitation or found a workaround. In the meantime, I’ve been exploring alternative methods, such as integrating Node-RED into my setup to automate brightness adjustments alongside custom effects. It’s been a fascinating learning process, and I’m excited to share my findings with others who might be tackling similar challenges.

For those interested in creating dynamic lighting scenarios, I’d recommend starting with simple effects and gradually incorporating more complex automation rules. The key is to experiment and find what works best for your space and lifestyle. Let me know if you’ve discovered any innovative solutions or tips for optimizing smart lighting setups!
