Exploring Smart Lighting Integration: Hue Dimmer and Hubitat Setup

I’m really excited about my latest smart home project! I’ve been working on transitioning my smart lighting setup from SmartThings to Hubitat, and it’s been a fascinating journey. One of the key components I wanted to integrate was my Philips Hue bulb in my son’s room, along with the Hue dimmer remote. I remember setting this up with SmartThings before, but now I’m curious to see if I can replicate the same functionality with Hubitat without using a Hue bridge.

So far, I’ve managed to connect both the remote and the bulb to Hubitat, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to link them directly, similar to how they worked with SmartThings. Currently, it seems like the Hue dimmer is functioning as a button controller, sending commands through Hubitat to adjust the bulb. While this works, I’m curious if there’s a more seamless way to have the remote control the bulb directly while still maintaining Hubitat’s oversight.

Has anyone in the community successfully achieved this kind of setup? I’d love to hear about your experiences or any tips you might have. It would be amazing to have the flexibility of direct remote control while still benefiting from Hubitat’s advanced automation features. Let me know your thoughts!
