Hi everyone,
I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and thoughts with you all. We recently had some decking installed, and I’ve been tasked with finding some RGBWW/RGBCCT lights to install. While I’ve come across plenty of affordable options on Amazon that use RF or Bluetooth, I’d really prefer to integrate them with Home Assistant if possible. My wall lights are already under control via a Sonoff module, so it would be great to have everything on the same platform.
I’ve been researching Zigbee options, as that’s my preference, but I’m open to Wi-Fi if Zigbee isn’t feasible. I’ve tried looking up reviews on YouTube, but it seems like this isn’t something people often discuss, which I find a bit surprising! If anyone out there has experience with this, I’d love to hear about your setup, whether it was worth the effort, and any tips you might have.
One thing I’ve noticed is that there aren’t many reviews or discussions about integrating these types of lights with Home Assistant. It would be fantastic to hear from others who have tackled similar projects. Did you find it straightforward, or were there any hurdles you had to overcome?
I’m also curious about the reliability of Zigbee versus Wi-Fi for outdoor lighting. I’ve heard that Zigbee can sometimes be tricky with outdoor setups, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to hearing from you all!
Best,
