Exploring Smart Lighting Integration with Google Home

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to dive into the world of smart lighting and see how it can seamlessly integrate with Google Home. I’ve been using Ikea dimmers for a while now, and while they work great on their own, I’m curious about how to leverage them for more advanced automation.

I came across this idea of configuring a two-button switch to act as a dimmer, where one button increases the temperature by 1 degree and the other decreases it. It’s a bit tricky, but I think it could open up so many possibilities for smart home integration. I’ve tried a few things so far, like setting specific temperatures with button presses, but I’m really hoping to find a way to make it work with multiple presses for incremental changes.

If anyone has experience with this or knows of a virtual device that could help, I’d love to hear about it! The goal is to create a setup where pressing one button increases the temperature and the other decreases it, all while being able to trigger actions in Google Home. It’s a bit of a puzzle, but I’m determined to crack it.

On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring some new Govee lights and their integration with the Govee app. The ability to create custom scenes and sync lights to music is just amazing. I can’t wait to experiment more and see how these can be incorporated into my existing setup.

If you have any tips or tricks for getting the most out of smart lighting, or if you’ve successfully integrated a similar system, please share! I’m all ears and would love to learn from your experiences. Thanks for being such an inspiring community!
