I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my journey into smart lighting, especially with Govee and the Hue Emulation feature. My Govee lights have completely transformed how I experience my home, offering a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. However, I encountered a small hiccup when integrating my devices with Alexa—everything was showing up as a dimmable light in the /api/discovery.xml. This was a bit puzzling since I expected switches to be recognized as plugs rather than lights. After some research, I discovered that tagging items correctly in the Hue Emulation settings was the key. Now, my devices are accurately categorized, and Alexa responds perfectly to my voice commands. It’s truly amazing how these smart devices can work together seamlessly once everything is set up properly. I’m already looking forward to exploring more features and perhaps even automating more aspects of my home. The future of smart living is bright, and I’m excited to be a part of it!
