Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent exploration into integrating smart lighting with my Nuki Smart Lock. After upgrading to the 4th generation Nuki lock, which now supports Matter, I wanted to see how I could enhance my home automation setup.
One feature I’m particularly interested in is exposing the lock’s button over Matter/Thread. This would allow my smart home system to react to single, double, and long presses. Imagine being able to temporarily disable an auto-lock automation with a quick press or trigger a full lockdown with a long press—this opens up a world of possibilities!
I’ve been researching how to implement this and came across some examples, like the TUO Smart Button, which seems to achieve similar functionality. I’m curious if anyone else has successfully integrated their Nuki lock’s button into their Matter setup and how they went about it.
For those who might be considering this, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the benefits and any potential challenges you foresee. Let’s discuss how we can maximize the configurability of our home automation systems using Matter and Thread! ![]()
