I recently upgraded my home lighting setup and wanted to share my experience and some insights. I’ve been using Zooz Z-Wave dimmers for a while now, and they’ve been a great addition to my smart home ecosystem. However, I’ve been curious about integrating them with RGBGenie devices to enhance my lighting automation further.
Here’s a bit about my setup: I have a legacy system where a dumb switch controls power to a dumb outlet, which in turn powers a 12V transformer for an LED strip. I upgraded the switch to a Zooz Z-Wave dimmer and updated the transformer to support dimming. Now, I’ve plugged an RGBGenie 1008 into the outlet, and I’m wondering if the Zooz dimmer can be used to control the brightness of the RGBGenie. If so, I assume I’d need to set up some rules in the Rule Machine, but I’m not entirely sure how to go about it.
Has anyone successfully integrated Zooz dimmers with RGBGenie devices? Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated! I’d love to hear how others have approached similar setups and if there are any common pitfalls to avoid.
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with different lighting scenes and schedules. It’s amazing how a well-thought-out lighting setup can completely transform the ambiance of a room. I’d love to hear about any creative lighting projects or automation ideas others have implemented in their homes.
