Exploring Smart Lighting Integration with RGBW2 and Shelly 1L

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! :star2: I recently decided to upgrade my son’s room with a Shelly 1L switch, aiming to replace the old, clunky light switch. The idea was to integrate it seamlessly with an RGBW2 LED strip in the attic, creating a versatile lighting system. However, there was a catch—no direct wiring between the switch and the LED strip. This led me to explore the possibility of using multi-button actions on the Shelly 1L to control both the ceiling light and the RGBW2 strip.

My initial thought was to assign different actions to each button press. For instance, a single press could turn on the ceiling light, while a double press would activate the RGBW2 strip. Similarly, pressing once could turn them off, and a double press would switch off the strip. I’m curious if this setup is feasible or if there’s a smarter way to achieve this functionality.

I’ve also been experimenting with integrating Hue bulbs throughout my home, and they’ve been a game-changer! :rainbow: However, I’m still on the hunt for the perfect in-wall switch that can fully integrate with the Hue ecosystem. I tried the Sonoff ZBMini-L, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations, especially regarding power management.

Another challenge I’ve encountered is setting up a reliable automation system for my hallway lights, which are controlled by a 3-way switch. I’m wondering if I can achieve dimming functionality without replacing both switches, or if there’s a workaround using Z-Wave technology.

Overall, this journey has been a mix of triumphs and hurdles, but it’s all part of the learning process. I’m eager to hear from the community—what solutions have you implemented for similar setups? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated! :hugs:
