I’ve recently acquired a C-8 and decided to start with Zooz water sensors, but now I’m eyeing smart bulbs for added convenience. The idea of scheduling lights to turn off automatically or creating scenes for different moods sounds fantastic, but I’m a bit stuck on choosing the right technology.
I’ve read that Zigbee can be flaky and Z-Wave might not be ideal if someone manually turns off a lamp. WiFi is another option, but I’m concerned about energy consumption and network congestion. Then there’s Matter over Thread, which seems promising, but I’m not sure if my ecosystem supports it yet.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated smart bulbs into their setups. What protocols have worked best for you? Any tips on avoiding common pitfalls? I’m also curious about anyone’s experience with the new Wyze cameras—have they been reliable post their recent funding round?
