Hello everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First off, I recently upgraded my Wyze Pan Camera to the latest firmware, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the improvements. However, I noticed an interesting issue with the night vision mode. When the camera moves to a specific position, the night vision temporarily turns off, and the image goes black. It’s a bit jarring, but when the camera returns to its previous position, everything works as expected again. I’ve been using this camera for over a year without any issues, so it’s puzzling to see this happen after the upgrade. Does anyone else experience this, or might there be a workaround?
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating some dumb floor lamps into my SmartThings setup. It’s been a bit of a challenge, but I’ve managed to create a custom solution using a smart switch. The idea is to allow my wife to use the existing lamp switch while still maintaining control through the SmartThings app. The setup works, but there’s a slight delay when switching between the two methods. I’m curious if others have faced similar issues or if there’s a more seamless way to achieve this integration.
Lastly, I wanted to share my excitement about discovering CATT, a tool that allows me to cast my Hubitat dashboard to my Google Home Hub with touch control capabilities. It’s been a game-changer for how I interact with my smart home setup. The ability to control everything from one central hub is incredibly convenient, and the touch functionality adds a whole new layer of usability.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these topics and any tips or tricks you might have for improving these setups. Happy smart home tinkering! ![]()
