Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First off, I’ve been working on creating a smart app that allows for precise color, brightness, and saturation control for my Hue lights. While I’ve managed to get brightness and saturation working using integer inputs, I’m struggling with the color selection process. Currently, I’m using an enum with predefined color names like red, blue, etc., which convert to integer values for the hue function. However, this feels a bit limiting. I’ve noticed that in some tiles, there’s a color picker that allows for exact tone selection and returns a hex code. Does anyone know how to implement something similar in a smart app? Any tips or resources would be greatly appreciated!
On another note, I’ve been exploring outdoor-rated smart light strips, specifically looking for something compatible with HE. I’ve heard great things about the Philips Hue outdoor strip, but it’s quite pricey. I’ve also come across Sengled, but from what I understand, their options are mostly indoor-rated. If anyone has recommendations for affordable, outdoor-rated smart light strips, I’d love to hear them!
Finally, I’d love to hear about anyone’s experiences with customizing smart lighting setups. Have you found any innovative ways to integrate color customization or overcome challenges with outdoor lighting? I’m always looking for new ideas and solutions!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
Best regards,
