I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and thermostat customization lately, and it’s been a fascinating journey!
One thing I’ve noticed is how much potential there is to really tailor these devices to fit our daily routines and preferences. For instance, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom modes for my thermostat beyond the standard Heat/Cool/Auto settings. Imagine having modes like ‘Rush Hour’ or ‘Eco’ that adjust the temperature based on specific schedules or energy-saving goals! However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag when trying to integrate these custom modes with Google Assistant. It doesn’t seem to recognize them, and the thermostat even shows up as turned off. I’m curious if anyone else has encountered this or found a workaround. ![]()
On another note, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my experience migrating from SmartThings to Hubitat. The setup process was much smoother than I anticipated, and the integration with Life360 has been a game-changer for improving the reliability of my presence sensors. It’s been so satisfying to have everything working seamlessly under one platform. However, there’s been one hiccup in this transition: my Haozee Power Plug. Despite trying multiple methods to include it into Hubitat, I haven’t been able to get it recognized properly. It’s frustrating because I don’t want to leave it stranded on SmartThings while everything else is on Hubitat. Has anyone else had success with this specific plug or know of a custom driver that could help? ![]()
