Exploring Smart Lighting Solutions and My Journey with GE Link Bulbs

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with smart lighting and how I’ve been integrating GE Link bulbs into my home setup. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m really enjoying the flexibility and convenience they bring. :star2:

I recently purchased a SmartThings hub and a few GE Link bulbs, and I’m now looking to upgrade my overhead lighting system. The goal is to replace two dumb light switches that currently control six overhead lights. Ideally, I’d like these lights to always have power, so I can control them through my hub even when the switches are off. I’m not too focused on dimming, but having consistent control is key. Does anyone have any recommendations on what kind of switches would work best for this setup? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the options out there, so any advice would be appreciated! :bulb:

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with creating scenes using my Hue Zigbee switches. It’s been a fun project, and I’ve managed to set up a system where pressing different buttons cycles through various scenes like “BRIGHT,” “CINEMA,” and “RELAX.” I’d love to hear how others are using their switches to create unique lighting scenarios. It’s amazing how a little creativity can transform your space! :cinema:

Lastly, I wanted to mention my recent success with setting up a warm white string light system. I’ve been really impressed with their performance and how they complement my existing setup. It’s little touches like these that make my home feel even more connected and comfortable. :corn:

If anyone has tips or experiences to share regarding smart lighting setups or scene automation, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the ideas flowing.
