Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my journey with smart lighting and how it’s transformed my home! As someone who loves DIY projects, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices, and it’s been a fascinating ride.
I started with replacing our basement lights, which were these old, ghastly pull-chain bulbs. After some research, I decided on Hue compatible bulbs paired with a Hue Tap. It’s amazing how something so simple can make such a big difference—it feels like we’ve upgraded to the 1970s!
Now, I’m looking to expand to smart locks and wall switches, but I’m taking it one step at a time. I’ve also been exploring the SmartTiles dashboard app on an old iPad, which has been a great way to keep everything organized.
One thing I’m still figuring out is how to integrate presence sensors for my family without making them feel like they’re being tracked. Geofencing benefits seem useful, but it’s all about finding the right balance.
