Exploring Smart Lighting Solutions and Sequences

As I continue to explore the world of smart lighting, I’ve been fascinated by the possibilities of integrating RGB bulbs and creating visually appealing sequences. I recently came across some amazing Node-RED sequences that not only function well but also look stunning. For instance, one sequence I created resembles a syncing ship, which adds a touch of elegance to my living room. It’s incredible how a simple setup can transform the ambiance of a space!

However, I’ve also encountered some challenges. For instance, my picture entity cards stop updating after a few seconds, which is quite frustrating. I’ve tried setting them up in Lovelace with a live feed, but it only works for a short while before updating sporadically. I’m curious if there’s a better way to achieve a constant live feed from my IP cameras. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Another area I’m exploring is wake word models. I recently tried creating a custom wake word using the Home Assistant guide, and it turned out to be much smaller than I expected—only 202KB! It’s amazing how technology has advanced to make such models compact and efficient. I’m now thinking about how to share these models within the community. Maybe there’s a way to create a dedicated thread or a repository for sharing wake word models. Mods, any thoughts on this?

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with Z-Wave JS on my Synology NAS. While the setup was a bit tricky at first, I managed to get it working by following some community guides. It’s rewarding to see everything come together and integrate seamlessly with my existing setup. If anyone else is struggling with Z-Wave JS, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share my experience!

Overall, it’s incredible to see how smart home technology continues to evolve and offer new possibilities. Whether it’s creating beautiful lighting sequences, troubleshooting live feeds, or exploring wake word models, there’s always something new to learn and share. Let’s keep the discussions going and help each other make the most of our smart homes!
