Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and gaming, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and thoughts with you all. ![]()

I recently got into setting up gaming lights, specifically the Evangelion themed ones, and I have to say, the immersion they add to my gaming setup is incredible. I positioned them next to my TV, and it really transformed my gaming experience. However, there was a hiccup when I first set them up—my immersion mode kept disconnecting. After some troubleshooting, I figured out that adjusting the placement and connecting them directly to my TV fixed the issue. Now, it’s like I’m gaming in an Evangelion cockpit! ![]()
I’ve also been experimenting with color modes for different types of games. For action-packed games, vibrant colors like oranges and reds create an intense atmosphere, while cooler tones work better for strategy games. It’s so much fun to customize the lighting to match the game’s mood. If anyone has tips on how to sync the lighting more smoothly with the game’s visuals, I’d love to hear them! ![]()

Another thing I’ve been curious about is integrating different brands of smart devices. I have a mix of Philips Hue and Sonoff devices, and I’m wondering if there’s a seamless way to control them all through one interface. I’ve heard that Home Assistant can handle this, but I’m still exploring the best setup. If anyone has a multi-brand integration that’s working well, please share your setup! ![]()
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about how to make my smart lighting more interactive. Maybe using voice commands to change the scene based on the game I’m playing. It would be awesome to say, “Okay Google, set gaming lights to action mode,” and have everything adjust automatically. Any ideas on how to make this a reality? ![]()

Overall, experimenting with smart lighting has been a fantastic journey, and I can’t wait to see how much further I can push the boundaries of my gaming setup. Thanks for reading, and I hope this post inspires someone to try something new with their smart lights! ![]()
