Exploring Smart Lighting Solutions for My Kitchen

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting for my kitchen, and it’s been quite the journey! Let me share my experiences and thoughts so far.

First off, I’ve got these six recessed LED lights that I want to upgrade. The current setup has three on-off switches, each controlling two lights. My main goal is to be able to dim all of them together, but if that’s not possible, I’d settle for individual dimming. I also want to keep the physical switches for manual control—they’re just too convenient to give up!

Integrating everything into my SmartThings setup is a must. I’ve heard great things about Zigbee and Z-Wave devices, but I’m not sure which one would be the best fit for my kitchen. I’ve been eyeing some sleek single-switch options that could save wall space, but I’m not sure if they’ll work with my hub. Any recommendations would be awesome!

Another thing I’m considering is the possibility of using solar-powered lights. I’ve come across some string lights that could be perfect for my outdoor setup, but I’m worried about their reliability on the Hubitat ecosystem. I’d love to find something that works out of the box without too much DIY hassle.

I’ve also been exploring some cool thermostat widgets for my OpenHAB setup. They’re not only functional but also add a nice touch to my dashboard. I’m curious if anyone has experience with custom widgets or if there are any hidden gems out there.

Overall, I’m really excited to see how all these pieces come together. It’s been a bit overwhelming with so many options, but I’m determined to find the perfect setup for my home. If anyone has tips or success stories, I’d love to hear them!

Cheers to making my kitchen smarter one light at a time! :star2:
