As the days grow shorter and the nights cooler, I’ve been thinking a lot about enhancing the lighting around my home. Our pathway from the street to the house is currently lit with traditional bulbs that are beginning to fade, and I’ve been exploring LED options to replace them.
I’ve heard great things about LED strips for outdoor use, but I’m curious about others’ experiences. How durable are they in different weather conditions? And what about their brightness levels—are they sufficient for safe nighttime walking?
Our pathway is situated under an overhang about 2.5 meters high, which could be a good spot for mounting the lights. The covered terrace at the end of the pathway is 4m x 10m, and I’m considering installing two lines of LEDs along the length to provide gentle illumination.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has tackled a similar project. What types of LEDs did you use? How did you ensure they were weatherproof? And most importantly, how do they hold up during the colder months?
Looking forward to your insights and recommendations! ![]()
