I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting with the IKEA Tradfri system, and it’s been an exciting journey! While I’ve managed to get the color controls working smoothly for my bedroom lights, I’ve hit a bit of a snag with the outlet socket connected to my LED strip under the bed. Specifically, I can’t seem to get the on/off functionality to work properly through the app. The device is labeled as “Lys under seng” (65556), and I’ve set up the corresponding Thing and Item in my configuration. Here’s what my setup looks like:
Bridge tradfri:gateway:mygateway [ host=“192.168.x.xxx”, code=“xxxxxxxxxxxxx” ] {
Thing 0210 65548 “Vicktoria farvet lys” [id=65548]
Thing 0010 65556 “Lys under seng” [id=65556]
Thing 0100 65546 “Lys ved tøjskab 1” [id=65546]
Thing 0100 65547 “Lys ved tøjskab 2” [id=65547]
Thing 0210 65555 “Lys Skrivebord” [id=65555]
}
Switch 65556 “Lys under seng” (I_Vicktoria, gLight) [“Outlet”] { channel = “tradfri:0010:mygateway:65556:power”}
I’ve tried troubleshooting by resetting the device and checking the network connection, but the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this problem with the Tradfri outlet? I’d love to hear if there are any workarounds or solutions out there. In the meantime, I’m exploring alternative methods to control the LED strip manually while I figure this out. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m determined to crack this puzzle!
On a lighter note, I’ve been impressed with how seamlessly the Tradfri system integrates with my existing smart home setup. The ability to control lights via voice commands or the app has really enhanced my daily routine. I’m hopeful that with some tweaking, I can get everything working smoothly. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing Tradfri devices, I’d be happy to hear them!
Cheers,
Peter
