Hello everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart lighting and I’m really excited to share my experiences and questions with you all. I recently purchased an HM-LC-RGBW-WM controller and I’m looking to set up some RGBW LED strips in my living room. While I’ve managed to get the basics working, I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with.
First off, I’m curious about the combination of white (W) and RGB colors. From what I understand, mixing white with RGB tones isn’t straightforward. For example, can I achieve a color like 60% white and 40% green? I’ve seen some setups where this works seamlessly, but I’m not sure how to replicate it. Any tips or experiences you’ve had would be invaluable.
Another consideration is whether to go with a 24V or 12V system. I’ve heard that 24V systems are more efficient and better suited for longer runs, but I’m not entirely sure. I’m looking for recommendations on RGBW strips and power supplies that work well with both systems. If you’ve had success with a particular brand or model, I’d love to hear about it.
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with different lighting scenarios and it’s been a lot of fun. I even tried setting up a game night with my friends using some Govee lights that change colors with the music. It added a whole new dimension to our gatherings, and I’m excited to explore more creative uses for my smart lights.
I’m also wondering if anyone has experience with dynamically creating channels in their smart home setup. I’m working on a project where I need to add a channel programmatically, but I’m running into some issues getting it to show up in the main UI. Any advice or resources you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, I’m curious about others’ experiences with smart lighting controllers. Have you found any particular brand or model that stands out for reliability and ease of use? I’m still in the research phase and I want to make sure I make the best choice for my setup.
Thank you all for your insights and experiences. I’m looking forward to learning more and sharing my journey as I continue to explore the wonderful world of smart lighting!
