Exploring Smart Lock Options for Homey in the US

Hi everyone, I’m really excited to be diving into the world of smart home automation with Homey. I’ve just moved into a new home and decided to transition away from SmartThings and Switch. I’ve pre-ordered the Homey Pro (early 2023) and received my Homey Bridge a couple of days ago. I plan to use the Pro in the cloud until it arrives.

One of the key areas I’m focusing on is finding the right smart lock solution that works seamlessly with Homey. I’ve come across options like Nuki, Yale, and Dynalock, but they all seem to be designed for Euro-style cylinders, which isn’t what I have here in the US. I’m really hoping to find a Z-Wave option, as the 2.4 GHz band is quite crowded in my neighborhood. However, I’d be open to a Zigbee or Wi-Fi solution if it can connect to Homey and allow me to lock/unlock my door based on flows, set codes for family and contractors, and integrate smoothly with Homey’s ecosystem.

I’m also comfortable with some minor programming if there’s a community-based app or workaround that could make a US-style smart lock compatible with Homey. Has anyone heard of or come across a smart lock that fits these criteria? Any advice or recommendations would be incredibly appreciated!

Additionally, I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with Homey and how they’ve integrated various devices, especially locks and security systems. The community here seems fantastic, and I’m looking forward to learning from everyone’s experiences.

Thanks in advance for your help and insights!
