Exploring Smart Lock Protocols: Zigbee vs Z-Wave vs Wi-Fi

I recently purchased a remote property that I’ll only be using part-time, and I’m looking to install a smart lock on it. The challenge is that the house may remain empty for up to six months at a time, and I’m really concerned about battery life. I’ve heard that different protocols—Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Wi-Fi—have varying battery efficiencies, but I’m not sure which one would last the longest in this scenario. I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with smart locks and which protocols they’ve found to be most reliable for long-term use. If you have any brand recommendations, that would be a huge help too! I’m also curious if anyone has firsthand experience with these protocols in similar setups. Thanks in advance for your insights and advice!
