Exploring Smart Lock Solutions for Built-in Cupboards

I’m currently exploring smart lock solutions for a built-in wardrobe in my hallway. The goal is to lock the wardrobe from the inside when I’m not at home and unlock it easily when I’m back. I’ve come across a few interesting options, but I’m still not sure which one would work best for my setup.

One idea is to use a smart lock with an extended cable and a button or keypad on the exterior side of the wardrobe. This way, I can unlock the door without visibility from the outside. I’ve seen some DIY projects where people have created custom solutions using smart locks and additional hardware, but I’m not sure if I have the skills to build something like that myself.

I’ve also looked into off-the-shelf smart locks that might fit my needs. However, most of them seem to be designed for standard doors, not built-in cupboards. I’m wondering if anyone in the community has tackled a similar project or has any recommendations.

If anyone has experience with smart locks for unique applications like this, I’d love to hear about your setup, challenges, and solutions! I’m excited to see what the community comes up with for this interesting project.
