Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart locks and home automation, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all. First off, I recently installed a Vera2 hub at a client’s house, and it’s been a fantastic experience so far. The Schlage deadbolt we set up is working seamlessly, but I’m a bit puzzled about the control options in the SQRemote app. I’m used to the simplicity of Homebuddy on my Android, but switching to an iPhone has me a bit confused. Does anyone know if the free version of SQRemote offers all the necessary controls, or should I consider upgrading to the paid version for better functionality? I’d really appreciate any insights!
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating various smart devices into my home setup. One thing I’ve noticed is how certain devices, like the Dot, seem to lower their volume overnight. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it’s something I’d like to understand better. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, have you found a solution?
I’m also curious about the Kwikset 915 lockset and its compatibility with Zigbee or Z-Wave. I’ve heard great things about its reliability, but I want to make sure it’ll work seamlessly with my existing smart home ecosystem. If anyone has experience with this lock and can share their setup process, I’d be grateful!
Lastly, I’ve been exploring ways to streamline my home automation routines. I came across a virtual open/closed button tile solution that allows routines to be triggered directly without additional smart apps. It’s a neat workaround, and I’m excited to implement it. If anyone has tips or alternative methods for simplifying routines, I’d love to hear about them!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your thoughts and advice!
