Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart locks lately and wanted to share my experiences and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. I’ve been considering the Schlage Z-Wave Connect Camelot BE469 CAM 605 and the Qwikset 914, and I’ve read a lot about their performance with different hubs. I’ve got an ST hub, Echo Dot, Logitech hub, Android phone, and iPad, so compatibility is key for me.
One thing I’m really curious about is how these locks handle remote access. I’ve heard they both work well with Alexa and mobile apps, but I’d love to hear more from anyone who’s set up a schedule to lock and unlock their house automatically. Size is also a big factor for me—I’m looking for something sleek and compact. From what I’ve seen, both options seem pretty similar in size, but I’d appreciate any firsthand comparisons!
Another thing I’ve been exploring is automation rules. I’ve been trying to set up my lights to turn on when motion is detected, but I’ve run into some issues with false triggers, especially with the Quick Exit feature. It’s frustrating because I don’t want the lights to come on when I’m just arming the system. Has anyone else experienced this with their Qolsys panel? I’d love to hear if there’s a workaround or a different rule setup that works better.
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with custom widgets for my openHAB setup. It’s amazing how much you can personalize your interface, but it does take some trial and error. I’d love to see more examples of creative widget setups or tips for making the interface more intuitive.
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about integrating more eco-friendly devices into my setup, like smart thermostats or energy monitoring systems. If anyone has experience with these, I’d love to hear about the benefits and any potential pitfalls.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
