Exploring Smart Locks and Energy Monitoring: My Journey with Nuki and Beyond

I’ve been on a fascinating journey into the world of smart home technology, and I’d love to share some of my experiences and insights with the community.

One of my recent projects has been exploring smart locks, and I’ve been particularly impressed with the Nuki system. I stumbled upon it while searching for a reliable solution for my home, and the design and functionality truly caught my eye. I’m currently using the Nuki Keypad 2.0 alongside my lock, and it’s been a seamless experience so far. However, I’m curious to know if others have had success integrating Nuki with specific lock styles, particularly the Gainsborough style Tri-Locks. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Another area I’ve been diving into is energy monitoring. With the increasing focus on sustainability, I want to keep track of my energy usage in real-time and historically. My setup includes solar panels, a battery storage system, and even EV chargers, so having a comprehensive monitoring solution is crucial. I’ve been looking into devices that can handle multiple clamps, ideally 4-6, to monitor energy flow across all these systems. If anyone has experience with Homey-compatible devices that can achieve this, I’d love to hear about your setups and recommendations!

One thing I’ve learned along the way is the importance of brand integration. While I love the idea of having a fully integrated smart home, I’ve found that mixing devices from different brands can sometimes be a challenge. For instance, when I tried setting up an automation to control my lights, I encountered some unexpected issues with state changes firing too frequently. It turned out to be related to how my Zigbee lights republish their states. I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar challenges or achieved smooth integrations across different ecosystems.

As I continue to explore and expand my smart home setup, I’m always on the lookout for new tools, tips, and tricks. Whether it’s finding the perfect app for device management or discovering a hidden feature in a piece of hardware, the journey is both exciting and educational. I’d love to hear about your experiences, too—what tools, devices, or strategies have made your smart home journey easier or more enjoyable?

Let’s keep the conversation going and share our knowledge to help each other create smarter, more connected homes! :rocket:
