Exploring Smart Locks and MQTT Integration

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my journey with smart locks and MQTT integration. As someone who’s been experimenting with home automation, smart locks have always been a key component for me. After trying several options, I’ve found Nuki to be the most reliable and user-friendly. Their Lock’n’go feature is a game-changer, especially for those who value convenience and security.

One of the standout features I’ve recently explored is MQTT support. Setting up MQTT with Nuki was seamless, and the responsiveness is impressive. It feels almost instantaneous, which is a huge improvement over Bluetooth solutions I’ve used before. The ability to get the last published message upon subscription is a nice touch, ensuring I always have the latest state without delays.

However, there’s room for improvement. I’d love to see more flexibility in configuring the MQTT server information, such as allowing custom hostnames and ports. If anyone has tips or experiences to share on optimizing MQTT setups or troubleshooting common issues, I’d be grateful to hear them!

For those considering Nuki, I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if reliability and ease of use are priorities. The integration with MQTT has truly elevated my smart home experience. Let’s keep the discussion going and share our tips and tricks for seamless smart lock and MQTT setups!

Happy automating, everyone! :rocket:
