Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of energy monitoring with my Wyze Cam Outdoor cameras and Aqara Smart Plugs, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you all!
First off, I’ve been using the Wyze Cam Outdoor units to keep an eye on my property, and I’ve noticed that motion detection works like a charm. However, I’ve been trying to figure out how to disable audio recording on these cameras. I’ve gone through the settings multiple times, but the option doesn’t seem to be there. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or know of a workaround? I’m really hoping to find a solution since I’d prefer to keep the audio off for privacy reasons.
On the Aqara Smart Plug front, I’ve been using it to monitor the power consumption of my non-smart fan. It’s been a fantastic way to detect when the fan is on or off, and even to check if it’s rotating or oscillating. However, I’ve noticed that the plug doesn’t automatically detect small power changes, like the 3W increase when the fan starts rotating. I’ve had to manually refresh the power readings to see the change, which isn’t ideal. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this and if there’s a way to adjust the refresh interval or make the plug more sensitive to these small changes.
Another thing I’ve been exploring is setting up automations that don’t rely on manual restarts. I’ve got some routines in place to help my kids wind down before bed, and I’d love to make sure these automations run smoothly even if I accidentally restart my system at the wrong time. If anyone has tips on how to lock these automations or prevent manual restarts during specific times, I’d be thrilled to hear about it!
I’d also love to hear about anyone’s experiences with integrating different smart devices and how they’ve managed to create a seamless home automation setup. Whether it’s tips on troubleshooting compatibility issues, setting up reliable automations, or just general advice, I’m all ears!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
