I’ve been diving into the world of smart home tech lately, and I’ve got a few thoughts and questions to share. First off, I’m on the hunt for a smart switch that not only controls power but also monitors consumption. Does anyone know of a switch that comes pre-loaded with Tasmota? I’ve heard great things about it, but I’m not sure where to start looking. If you’ve got any recommendations, I’d be super grateful!
On another note, I’ve been experiencing some odd behavior with my Wyze cameras and their accompanying bridge. I have two cameras in an attached garage, and one of them supports three sensors—motion and two contact sensors. A few days ago, all three sensors on that bridge went offline. The camera itself is still working fine, but the sensors just stopped responding. I’ve tried rebooting, unplugging, and even removing and reinserting the bridge, but nothing’s changed. It’s a bit concerning, especially since the garage has been really hot lately—probably hitting at least 120°F. When I unplugged the bridge, it was warm to the touch. Could the heat have caused the bridge to fail? Or is it possible that all three sensors just died at the same time? I’m leaning towards the heat being the culprit, but I’m not entirely sure.
If anyone has dealt with similar issues or has some troubleshooting tips, I’d love to hear them. I’m also curious if others have had problems with Wyze bridges in extreme temperatures. It would be great to know if this is a common issue or if there’s a fix I’m missing out on.
In the meantime, I’m keeping an eye on the situation and hoping for a resolution. Maybe I’ll reach out to Wyze support to see if they have any insights or solutions. Fingers crossed! ![]()
