Hey everyone, I’m really excited to dive into the world of smart home technology! I’ve been using Sonoff switches for a while now, but I’ve come across something interesting that I wanted to share and get your thoughts on. ![]()
I’ve heard about smart switches that use powerline communication instead of RF or Wi-Fi. The idea of reducing EMF radiation is really appealing to me, especially since I’m trying to create a healthier home environment. Does anyone have experience with these types of switches? I’d love to know if they’re reliable and easy to set up!
On another note, I’ve been working on integrating my smart devices with Home Assistant. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m really enjoying the customization possibilities. I did run into an issue with my RF switch and Sonoff RF bridge though. I managed to get my Yeelight lamps toggling on and off, but it’s happening every time the bridge receives an RF signal, not just when I trigger it manually. I tried messing with the payload field in the automation settings, but nothing seems to stick. Any tips on how to make this more reliable? ![]()
Also, I’m curious about others’ experiences with powerline communication. Is it as stable as RF or Wi-Fi? And are there any hidden gotchas I should be aware of before making the switch? I’d really appreciate any insights or recommendations you have!
Let’s keep the conversation going! ![]()
