Exploring Smart Thermostat Compatibility and Integration

As a homeowner diving into the world of smart home automation, I’ve been exploring how to integrate my new HVAC system with my existing smart home ecosystem. I recently installed the Trane XL850 thermostat, which comes with Z-Wave Plus compatibility. While it’s designed to work seamlessly with the Nexia service, I’m curious if there’s a way to control it through my Hubitat hub instead. This would allow me to maintain consistency across my smart devices and leverage the advanced automation features Hubitat offers. If anyone has successfully integrated the Trane XL850 with Hubitat, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with Govee’s Backlight 3 Lite lights, and I’m trying to figure out the best placement for them. Should I mount them behind the wooden wall as shown in their video, or would it be better to place them behind the TV? I’m aiming for an optimal lighting effect without compromising the aesthetic appeal of my living room. Any advice or experiences you’ve had with similar setups would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I’m monitoring carbon dioxide levels in my home using a sensor and would love to receive notifications when CO2 levels exceed 1000 ppm or drop below 900 ppm. While I’ve been able to track the data manually, having automated alerts would make it much easier to maintain a healthy indoor environment. If there’s a way to add CO2 to the notification list or integrate it with my existing smart home system, I’d be thrilled to hear about it.

Overall, I’m excited about the possibilities smart home technology offers, and I’m eager to learn from the experiences of others in this vibrant community!
