Exploring Smart Thermostat Humidity Control and MQTT Switch Fixes

Hi everyone, I’ve been exploring some smart home setups lately and wanted to share my experiences and ask a few questions. First off, I’m really interested in using the 2gig CT100 Z-Wave Programmable Thermostat for humidity control. It’s great that it can display humidity, but I’m curious if anyone has successfully set it up to act as a humidistat. I’d love to have my A/C kick in when humidity reaches a certain level, especially with Florida’s damp weather. Any tips or tricks would be super helpful!

On another note, I’ve been working with MQTT switches and ran into an issue where the switch status isn’t updating correctly in Home Assistant. The device itself works fine, turning on and off as expected, but the state in HA stays on even after the device turns off. I’ve checked the logs, and it seems the MQTT messages are being published correctly. I’m wondering if there’s a specific configuration or setting I might be missing to ensure the state updates properly. Has anyone encountered this before or have any suggestions?

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with integrating Govee devices into my setup. The app updates are frequent, and I’m excited to see what new features they bring. If anyone has any favorite Govee products or integration tips, I’d love to hear about them!

Thanks for reading, and I’m looking forward to your insights and experiences!
