Hi everyone, I’m currently exploring smart thermostat options for my new home, which has five separate zones. Each zone is currently equipped with a Honeywell dial thermostat, and the heating system uses hydronic baseboard heat. The challenge I’m facing is that each thermostat only has two wires, which limits my options for upgrading to a smart system. I was initially hoping to use Ecobee thermostats, but I’m not sure if they’re compatible with this setup.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully integrated smart thermostats in a similar multi-zone environment. What brands or models have worked well for you? Are there any specific features or considerations I should be aware of when choosing a thermostat for this kind of system? I’m particularly interested in options that offer good compatibility, ease of installation, and reliable performance.
