Hi everyone, I’m currently in the process of upgrading my heating and cooling system, and I’m considering getting a smart thermostat. I’ve been eyeing the ecobee, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s the right choice for my setup. My house is pretty small, so I don’t really need zoning or occupancy tracking. The new system I’m installing doesn’t have any fancy features either. I’m also not super into controlling my thermostat via my phone, and I rarely need to adjust the temperature when I’m away, so I’m wondering if the ecobee would even be worth the investment.
That said, I do like the idea of the thermostat learning my routines and optimizing the temperature in each room automatically. However, without multi-zone capabilities, I’m not sure how much of a difference it would make. I’m also curious if there are other features I might be overlooking that could make it worthwhile. If anyone has experience with the ecobee or can share their thoughts on whether it’s just a ‘shiny new thing’ or if there’s a genuine use case for it, I’d love to hear your insights!
