Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. I recently added an Aeon DSC06106 Energy/Switch to my setup, and it’s been working perfectly alongside my SmartThings hub and GC2 controller. The device shows up fine in the device list, and I’ve even marked the Aeon G1 as the inclusive parent for better management. However, I’ve hit a snag with adding a second Energy/Switch device. While it appears in the GC2 device list, it doesn’t show up in the local energy graphs or ADC, no matter how many times I refresh. I’m curious if there’s a limit to the number of energy monitors the GC2 panel supports or if there’s a configuration step I’m missing.
On another note, I’ve also been exploring the Monoprice Z-Wave On/Off plug. It works well with the generic device handler, but I’d love to customize the button functionality using the COMMAND_CLASS_PROTECTION class. I’ve read through the manual and even reached out to the community for advice, but I’m still not sure how to implement this feature. If anyone has experience with this or knows of a custom handler that supports theProtection State, I’d be grateful for any insights!
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with creating a simple temperature adjustment template in Habpanel for my homematic thermostat. While the script works when the item’s unit is set to “none,” it doesn’t function when the unit is set to “temperature.” I’m wondering if there’s a workaround or a different approach I can take to make this work seamlessly.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tackled similar challenges or has tips for optimizing these devices. Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other make the most out of our smart home setups! ![]()
