Exploring SmartHome Integration with Galaxy Tags and Echo Plus

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and insights. For those who are looking to expand their smart home setup, Galaxy Smart Tags have been a fantastic addition to my ecosystem. I recently switched from a Philips Hue hub to an Echo Plus hub after experiencing consistent issues with the Hue hub’s responsiveness. The Echo Plus seemed like a solid alternative, especially at a bargain price of $30.

Now, the question I’ve been tackling is whether I can use my Galaxy Smart Tags to control my Zigbee devices directly connected to the Echo Plus hub. From what I understand, the Echo Plus supports Zigbee devices, but I’m curious if integrating Galaxy Tags into this setup is feasible without reverting back to my old Hue hub. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have!

Another topic I’ve been exploring is the use of NodeMCU or WMOS mini devices as simple switches within the Homey environment. I’m looking to control lamps and other devices, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure this properly. If anyone has a working example or guide, it would be incredibly helpful.

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with power cycling my Zigbee devices to ensure optimal routing. Specifically, I’ve been unplugging my Iris smart plug for 15 minutes to allow the network to update, especially since a few of my lights have been unresponsive. I’m curious if others have noticed improvements with this method or if there’s a more efficient way to maintain stable Zigbee connections.

Overall, I’m excited to see how these integrations and troubleshooting efforts can enhance my smart home experience. I’d love to hear from others who’ve tackled similar projects or have insights to share!
