Hey everyone,
I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! I recently set up an OpenHAB instance on my Raspberry Pi 4, and while the installation went smoothly, I encountered a curious issue during my first reboot. The system didn’t reboot as expected, which was a bit puzzling. After some research and troubleshooting, I realized it was a minor configuration hiccup, and everything is running like clockwork now!
This experience got me thinking about the endless possibilities with OpenHAB. I’ve been experimenting with integrating various smart devices, from my Wyze cameras to some locally developed automation scripts. Speaking of Wyze, I’ve noticed that notifications with screenshots aren’t coming through consistently. Has anyone else experienced this? I’d love to hear if there are any workarounds or solutions out there.
Another project I’m really excited about is automating my garden lights. I’ve been playing around with light sensors and scheduling, aiming to create a seamless transition from day to night. It’s been a great way to blend technology with nature, and the results are simply magical!
I’d love to hear about your smart home projects—what challenges have you overcome, and what innovative solutions have you come up with? Let’s keep the ideas flowing and help each other make our homes smarter and more efficient!
Cheers,
