Hi everyone, I’m excited to share some of my recent experiences with smart home technology and see if others have encountered similar situations or have tips to share.
First, I wanted to talk about the SmartTag functionality. I recently set up several SmartTags around my home, and while most of them are working perfectly, I noticed that one of them isn’t responding as expected. On my end, everything seems to be configured correctly, but the tag simply shows ‘not allowed’ when my husband tries to access it. I’ve tried re-adding him as a member and even considered resetting the tag, but it hasn’t made a difference. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any suggestions?
On another note, I’ve been exploring ways to integrate multiple devices from different brands into a seamless system. For instance, I have a Wyze camera and an iRobot Roomba, and I’d love to automate my lights to turn on when the Roomba starts cleaning. Unfortunately, I’ve found that SmartThings doesn’t natively support this integration. I’ve heard great things about Hubitat for its flexibility, but I’m not quite ready to switch platforms yet. If anyone has successfully integrated devices like these, I’d love to hear about your setup and any workarounds you’ve discovered.
Lastly, I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on. I’ve been experimenting with scheduling my bathroom fan to turn off automatically after 15 minutes. It’s a small convenience, but it’s been a lifesaver for when I forget to turn it off after a quick shower. I ended up creating a custom scene with a delay, and it’s worked perfectly so far. I’d love to hear if others have similar setups or any tips for making it even more efficient.
