I’ve recently been diving into the world of home automation, and I must say, it’s been quite an adventure! 
I’ve been using SmartThings for a while now, and while it’s fantastic, I wanted to take my home security to the next level. That’s when I decided to integrate Abode into the mix. 
Earlier this week, I had an unsettling experience with a false alarm from SmartThings. It was during a thunderstorm, and my front door sensor triggered an alert. I was away from home, and my heart sank as I tried to figure out what was going on. Turns out, it was a mix of the storm and a faulty light switch that caused the sensor to trip. 
The good news? I caught it early and managed to resolve the issue before anything serious happened.This incident made me realize how crucial it is to have a reliable secondary system in place. That’s where Abode came to the rescue. I set up their streaming camera to monitor the front door, and it’s been a game-changer. 
Not only does it provide peace of mind, but it also integrates seamlessly with my existing SmartThings setup. I’ve even managed to automate some routines, like turning off the lights and music when I leave the house, which is a nice touch.
