As a long-time user of SmartThings, I’ve always been impressed by its versatility and the creativity of its community. However, recent changes, such as the transition to the new app and the shift away from Groovy, have left me a bit uncertain about the platform’s direction. I’ve relied on community-developed device handlers and smartapps to enhance my setup, and the thought of losing that functionality is daunting.
I’m curious to hear from others who might be in the same boat. How are you adapting to these changes? Are there alternative platforms or strategies you’ve found effective? I’d love to explore how we can continue to innovate within the SmartThings ecosystem or find new ways to integrate our existing setups.
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom scenes and automations using the new app. It’s a learning curve, but seeing my home respond to my routines in new ways is incredibly rewarding. I’d love to share some of the tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way, and I’m always open to new ideas!
Let’s keep the conversation going and support each other as we navigate these changes together. After all, the strength of SmartThings has always been its community, and I’m hopeful we can continue to build on that foundation. ![]()
