I recently purchased a Switchbot Hub Plus and a button pusher to automate my front gate entry. While the setup was straightforward, integrating it with SmartThings proved a bit challenging at first. After some research and troubleshooting, I managed to get everything connected smoothly. It’s amazing how this simple setup has transformed my daily routine, making it more convenient and secure.
Another area I’ve been exploring is the integration of my Fibaro dimmer with a motion sensor. I created a basic rule to turn off the lights when motion is detected, which worked perfectly after a few adjustments. This experience has given me a better understanding of how rules can simplify home automation.
I’ve also been experimenting with Google Assistant to control my home’s roller shutters. Configuring both the height and slat position separately was a bit tricky, but I managed to expose them as one unified item in Google Home. It’s fantastic how this setup allows me to control both aspects seamlessly through voice commands.
For those interested in monitoring energy consumption, I’ve come across some excellent third-party projects that graph sensor data over time. These tools provide a clear overview of energy usage, helping me make more informed decisions about my home’s efficiency.
Lastly, I’ve been impressed with the Wyze Cam Pan v3’s performance. Despite initial concerns about battery life, it’s been reliable, and the CamPlus feature has been a great addition for sharing live feeds with family members.
