Hi all, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation and renewable energy lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice. I recently installed Open-Meteo to help me estimate the production of my solar panels for the next five days. While I’ve managed to get the basic weather data up and running, I’m curious if anyone has successfully integrated additional data like shortwave radiation sums. I’ve tried digging through the documentation and forums, but I’m still not quite there. I also have Forecast installed, but it only gives me a one-day preview, which isn’t quite enough for my planning needs. If anyone has tips or tricks for pulling in more detailed weather data, I’d love to hear them!
On another note, I’ve been trying to connect my Marantz SR6012 receiver to my Homey setup, but I’m hitting a bit of a wall. Despite following the instructions and trying different apps, the receiver isn’t showing up in the device list. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m hopeful that with some troubleshooting and maybe a fresh pair of eyes, I can get it sorted out. I’ve heard great things about the HEOS integration, so I’m determined to make it work!
I’m also experimenting with different smart home devices and trying to find the best way to automate my daily routines. For example, I’d love to set up my Google Home speaker to play calming music at bedtime and then automatically turn off after a set time. I’ve tried setting up some basic rules, but I’m not quite getting the results I’m hoping for. If anyone has experience with automating media players or has some clever workarounds, I’d be grateful for any insights.
Lastly, I wanted to give a shoutout to the amazing community here. Whether it’s troubleshooting hardware issues, sharing tips for optimizing energy usage, or just brainstorming new automation ideas, it’s incredible to see how supportive and knowledgeable everyone is. I’m really enjoying the journey of learning and growing with all of you!
If anyone has any advice, recommendations, or just wants to share their own smart home projects, I’m all ears. Let’s keep the conversation going and continue to inspire each other!
