Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the possibilities it offers. One project I’ve been particularly excited about is automating my air conditioner to turn on when my solar panels are exporting a certain amount of energy, combined with the room temperature reaching a specific threshold. I’m using a Sensibo AC unit integrated with Home Assistant and an Enphase Envoy for monitoring solar export. It’s been a learning curve, but I’m loving the hands-on experience!
On the integration front, I’ve come across some interesting challenges. For instance, after my DNS IP was updated recently, I noticed that some of my integrations, like LG Horizon and Tuya, stopped authenticating. I’ve tried removing and reinstalling them, but no luck so far. I’m running Home Assistant in a Docker container on Unraid, and I’ve restarted both the Docker container and the Unraid server multiple times. It’s puzzling, and I’d love to hear if anyone else has faced similar issues or has any troubleshooting tips!
Another topic I wanted to touch on is the addition of smart devices. I’ve been experimenting with Nanoleaf bulbs, and while the first couple worked seamlessly, adding the rest has been a bit of a hurdle. They often become unresponsive after the initial setup. I’ve tried resetting them and using Multi Admin for pairing, but the issue persists. I’m curious if others have encountered this and how they resolved it. It’s such a bummer because the potential for these bulbs is huge, and I’d love to get them all working smoothly!
In closing, I’d love to hear about your experiences with integrating smart devices and automation projects. Whether it’s successes, challenges, or just general advice, I’m all ears! Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other navigate the exciting world of smart home tech. ![]()
